Understanding
AI.

You’ve figured out a lot of new technology. Let’s make sense of the next one.

A live online class with Stephen Epstein.
No technical background needed.

An illustrated vintage computer, notebook, coffee cup, and a small power-loader toy on a sunlit desk. The screen says You’ve been here before.
A familiar place to begin.

Let’s get past
the headlines.

Between the AI hype and the AI fear, it’s hard to know what’s real. You need a clear picture of what this technology actually is, what it isn’t, where it helps, and why your judgment matters.

Bring your questions, your skepticism, and whoever shares your screen.

Stephen Epstein, your class presenter.
Stephen Epstein
Writer, educator, fellow figure-it-outer.

Hi, I’m Stephen.

I spent twenty years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory translating complex science and engineering into stories people could follow. These days, I use those same skills helping people make sense of AI.

I write the newsletter CTRL-ALT-ADAPT, and I published a no-BS guide to AI for non-technical smart people called It’s Still Early.

My starting point is the same in all of it: your experience matters here.

We’ll start at the beginning. You’re not starting from zero.

A few practical things.

So you know what to expect.

Do I need to know anything about AI?

No technical background or experience with AI is needed. We’ll start at the beginning. You’ll join a Zoom call, watch live demonstrations, and have time for questions.

Can two of us attend together?

Yes. The $30 registration covers one screen, so people sharing a screen pay once.

How will I get the Zoom link?

Your confirmation comes by email after payment. The Zoom link will be sent to the email address you use at checkout a few days before the October 15 class. If it hasn’t arrived, check your spam folder or email stephen@latchkey.ai.

What if my plans change?

You can request a full refund until October 14 at 7 p.m. Pacific, 24 hours before the class starts. Email stephen@latchkey.ai. If the class date changes, you can choose the new date or a refund.

A little more about my work.

Curiosity is a good place to start.

  2. The Zoom link is emailed to the address used at checkout a few days before class, and is sent only to registered attendees.
  3. The session is recorded for quality control and the presenter's own use. The recording covers the presentation screen and the presenter's voice; no participant appears in any other material without their express permission.
  4. Refunds: full refund on request until October 14 at 7 p.m. Pacific, 24 hours before the class starts. If the date must be moved, you'll have your choice of the new date or your money back.
